Scott Hattenburg, PE - President

 

Scott Hattenburg is the firm's President and Principal Civil Engineer. Scott is a graduate of the University of Idaho and holds a bachelors degree in civil engineering. He has 29 years of engineering experience in planning, design, and project management of rural and urban airport, road, pipeline, water, sewer, and bulk fuel projects. Scott enjoys management of complex, challenging projects such as the Walakapa Natural Gas Pipeline, Nuiqsut Natural Gas Pipeline Route Selection Study, Matanuska-Susitna Borough Regional Septage and Wastewater Study, Palmer Southwest Utility System design, Port MacKenzie Natural Gas Pipeline design, and the Barter Island Airport relocation.  His area of particular expertise is in arctic engineering and aviation design, having completed over 80 airport planning, design and construction projects in Alaska over the past 3 decades.

 

Scott is a licensed land and sea plane pilot with 28 years of flying experience in Alaska. He enjoys flying, hunting, fishing, skiing, playing hockey and the great outdoors. He currently serves on the Municipality of Anchorage's On-Site Wastewater Technical Review Board and the Chandelle Acres Homeowners Association Board which manages the Hilltop Airport. He is active in  his church as a volunteer and officer, and he coached youth hockey for the Mustang Hockey Association for 8 years. Scott resides in Chugiak with his wife of 26 years, Penny, and their two children.
